Exempt Salary 2024. Workers are generally automatically exempt if they earn a salary of more than $107,432. Under this new rule, a worker must earn at least $43,888 beginning on july 1, 2024 to satisfy the salary basis test for overtime exemption.

Starting july 1, the rule would increase the threshold at which executive, administrative and professional employees are exempt from overtime pay to $43,888 from the current $35,568. This amount will increase to $58,658 beginning on january 1, 2025.
